It doesn't look good to me, I hope he pulls through. He was a genius in his day, and he still has a great sense of humour.

Get well George, the world will be a less colourful place without you.

Once again, we all hope he pulls through, but being realistic, he is dying. It's a shame. His time has come too soon. All the best to his family, it can't be easy for them, espicially if it drags on for years of him in and out of hospital.

Doctor came to see him and said there's good news and bad news Mr Best.

The bad news is that you probably only have an hour to live.

The good news is ................................

It's happy hour !

In so far as i wouldn't wish death on anyone, i do. However, he really does seem to have had his innings.

Even to the end he is milking those 8-10 years of genuis and getting us to forget the 30 years of drink, violence, more drink, abuse of his new liver, more drink and more violence.

He must have given a release for the doctors to give such detail of his condition and then had the Sundays in for a few pics. The last thing on my mind would be keeping the baying media informed and making a few extra bob.

Sad for his fans and his family, but Georgie, please do something with dignity for once in your life.

No great loss as far as I'm concerned.Just another overpaid footballer with more money than sense.I'm sure a few more will go the same way.I bet he had fun whilst the going was good though .Now paying the price.Thats life!!!

Was it George Best who said (paraphrasing) - "I've spent millions on fast cars , alcohol and women ..... the rest I just blew " ?

Hardly overpaid in the 60-70's although he would have deserved to be the highest paid at the time, he was on eof the best players in the world at the time, and still one of the all time great footballers. A shame his off filed antics mainly caused by his Alcoholism has ruined his Great footbaling name.
