Only 23 places allocated. 1 Aston and no TVR's so far. Still plenty of space left

And I thought the R8s wouldn't race again as the new rules come into full force next year...

Or are they being run with further penalties until the R9 is ready, could make for a good race as if not for their peerless reliability they'd have lost this year, so if Pescarlo etc. can either increase their speed or spend less time in the pits, we could have a new manufacturer on the top step come 4pm on the 19th...

That seems to be the automatic qualifiers list, and the cars listed are the models each team ran in 2005.

Here's the english version:

It's the competitors who have qualified, not the cars.

Spyker are going to be ther in 2006 and I thought that Russian Age Racing were definitely taking their new DBR9s there? That is what I have heard. Panoz I'm sure will enter into the GT2 catagory too.

Oh great. We get to watch the Spyker run around at the back of the grid for 4 hours again! OK, so that's longer than they normally manage in LMES but...

This list covers teams who have been offered a guaranteed entry to the 2006 race by way of their performance in one of the automatic qualification races. Basically get 1st/2nd in class at Le Mans (the year before), win class at Petit Le Mans/Sebring, win class overall in ALMS/LMES and the ACO will garantee you a place on pit row for that years LM24.

This doesn't mean these teams will race at Le Mans next year just that, if they send in an entry form they will be guaranteed acceptance.

For the rest of the slots it's a bit of a bun fight. If you have a car and the cash, you pay to enter. If your lucky you go on the entry list. If your not so lucky you go on to the reserves list and hope someone else pulls out.

Spyker stand a reasonable chance of being accepted as they have raced before (2003). They were hadrly a sucess so that will count against them, as will the fact they are (at least were) a manufacturer team (the ACO have gone anti this in recent years, but it's not exactly hard to get someone to set up a team and buy the car + support from you).

Team LNT, who raced the TVR's in the LMES this year have moved to Panozes(?) for next season. Their 1st/2nd with the TVR's at Spa last year will give them a good chance of getting on to the entry list.

It's the ACO, they are French so the answer is slowly, randomly and probably late.

There is at least one qualifing race to go, Sebring in March 2006. After that a entry list goes up at some point, listing the entries and reserves.

Normally if your good enough to make the invitation list, your also probably rich enough to do the 24 hours and so will do it. Other than these it can be a bit of a lottery - which of a thousand Porsche 911's to invite for example. Unless you buy a Courage of course, in which case you seem to get an automatic place (which wouldn't be so bad if they could finnish a lap).

The final list doesn't come out until 2 weeks before the race, as you have to pre-qualify the car and all drivers.
