curious as to why some pics when linked here are shown as large size and others are small? ie the width x height

I understand that Photobucket auto resize but when linked to a site such as this the pic (properties) comes up with ie6 or ie 7 or ie34 if from photobucket and varing sizes which I appear to have no control over.

How do i upload a full size pic for hosting and then showing? (width x height rather than actual size of the file)

IIRC photos on P.H. are now resized so that you don't have to scroll horizontally to read a thread. I could very well be wrong though.

Don't know abuot PhotoBucket but PH will automatically mangle images down to 750 px wide if they are bigger.

Photobucket auto-resizes any image over 250K.

It's a pain in the backside to be quite honest.

Yes but you don't need a file that big for a 750px web application... 100-150Kb is all you need.

Hi Simpo two,

I was disapointed with a post of a pic of mine under 'jack frost' as the size was too small compared to the test hosting just now. Also photobucket did not seem to rightclick link to the original size of the pic if people wanted to see it in its unaldulterated largeness! The limit on imageshack is larger than photbucket I believe.

I agree with resizing for PH

I resize mine to 800x600 and for most sites that's acceptable.

I don't bother messing around getting the file size down much below 300K, cos i'm lazy

If you're going to be doing a lot of this, why not get your own webspace? Then you can do whatever you like in it.
