. . on Top Gear, what was the first piece of music that was playing? I have heard it before on Top Gear but don't know what it is called or who the artist is. Sounds like the kind of music that would be in one of 'The Matrix' films.

Cheers

It was the theme tune from Law and Order, I think - Mike Post composition probably.

Sorry, nope. Just listened to several Law & Order tunes and they are not it. Sounded like something out of Cagney & Lacey

It was by Mr Scruff from the album Keep it Unreal, I think it's called Spandex man. They were using a lot of music from that album throughout the piece

Think I remember them playing 'Get a Move on' by Mr. Scruff during the RS4 piece!

Ah - sorry to have mislead then. I had this immediate picture of those grainy NY stills going through my head. On the fact that I have a tendancy to watch only Law and Order: SVU, Law and Order: Criminal Intent, Without a Trace and CSI: NY.....and I know it's not the CSI one!

Nope. Again, just DL'd it and its not it.

Ok, it was the first piece of music that played on the Audi RS4 report. It sounded kind of 'trancey', like a couple of tracks used on 'The Matrix' trilogy of films.

Thanks anyway so far guys for the replies.

I remember recognising it, but can't think of it now. I have it on the hard drive at home, will check this evening. I think it was from a film, but not the Matrix

Er, no there too.

Have listened to both 'get a move on' and 'Spandex' and neither are it.

It sounds like a whole bunch of violins strumming one note over and over, mixed with a synth and some drum beats also. Bit vague I know, but it might be a clue.

Ok, I've just found it.
Its the title music that plays when you put 'Matrix Reloaded' into DVD player.

Just have to find artist and track name.

That's easy - just put in 10 years of training and commitment and you'll be able to do the same climb in about 6 hours! Leo Harding is remarkable - see if you can find an account of his fast climb up El Cap in Yosemite, incredible!

I think beano may have been right, it might have been the music that channel 5 use for law and order, which is not the same as the proper theme that everyone else uses when they show it. Can't help beyond that though.

Not sure if this is the one you meant, but at some point they played some of the soundtrack to a film called 'Plunkett and Mclane'. An unusual mix of techno and classical, really good.
