Gunson exhaust gas analyser

Anyone got one of these? I was thinking of putting it on my Chrissy pressie list, thinking it may be useful in helping to diagnose running problems (I don't have any at the moment).

Whatdya think?

Innovative Motorsports have the LM-1 wide band analyzer. Very good and not too costy. pt

I'd agree I would think the gas analyser would be of limited use. due to not being able to use it on the move (easily)... the LM1 is a great piece of kit but you'd need another Lambda bung adding to your exhuast system but once in, the WBo2 sensor will provide a afr whilst running..

The LC1 is the same sensor and can be logged through a laptop rather than the hand held unit. which may be cheaper than the LM1.. I haven't got one or used one yet but I seriously consider it rather than the gunson jobbie..

I bought one of these when trying to get the V8s to pass the emissions test. Found it useful as a guide only. The results seemed a bit varied. In the end found it easier to go to the local garage talk to them nicely and stuff their pipe up my exhaust.

Yepp, have had one for a year now. Made a pipe for the exhaust end, easy to fit. It's easy to read Lamda or fuel-ratio during driving, and it can log --> dump to PC for analyzing afterwards. You will se any weak-rich spots for any load/rev instantly. An Autronic-adpter is available, that made the tuning of the Sm-2 easy and secure. pt
