Depends on the distance measured. If Ferry Horns are measured at 3' away, then at 6', it would be down to just under 132dB. At 12', it would be under 126dB. Double the distance, and lose 6.02dB of sound pressure.

140dB measured 1m away from the source is considered to give instant hearing damage within a 5m radius - i.e. anything over 125dB at your ears.

From a quick google those sort of ferry/train horns are 140dB at 5m. Make your own judgement about if it's "fun" or this bloke being a tt.

Fair one Justin... if it's dangerous, I'm with you; but just watching a piece of video of something that appears to be quite funny doesn't tell me what dB the horn was putting out and what damage it does.

The Horn failed on one of my cars a while back and I decided to upgrade it

the one i bought is 139 db !!!!

I didn't quite realise how loud it really was until i fitted it

people actually do jump out of thier skin when i press the horn !!

i've adjusted it so that the sound points down towards the pavement and it seems to have quietened it down quite a bit

you should have seen the MOT man jump when he tested it !! he actually found it rather amusing

I didn't like the fact the guy in the video was scaring animals - they have much more sensitive hearing than us

its great on the track to get people out the way and let them know you are there

The horn on the noble is rather poor - Vegantune do an upgrade if my memory serves me right
