Konica Digi cam and MS Photodraw?
Discussion
I bought a Konica Digital Revio KD310Z just before my recent trip to see the lovely girlfriend in Poland. I bought it the day before and didn't have time to install the software and have a play.
Now I'm home I obviously want to see the pics on a screen bigger than 2 inches. The driver has worked and the camera acts as a removable drive when it is plugged in to the USB. This means that I can see the pictures, but in an arsey way, just as a file full of jpegs. What I want to do is download them through Photodraw V2. It recognises there is a digital camera with pictures but then when I try to download says the camera is offline.
And of you clever chaps got any ideas on how to make the bugger work?
Cheers

Podie, I know I can do that matey, I just want to do it through Photodraw so that I get the thumbnails first. Could always customise the folder I suppose but I just want to do it my way
Tell you what, you're all pulling out the stops answering this for me

Moley,
Podie's right, you shouldn't need to do it via a photo package (I know nothing about photo draw BTW)
What operating system have you got, there's options in explorer to have thumbnails (in XP though)
Copying them to your C: drive will be quicker in the long run, can you not "see" the files on the removable disk when you do "file open" in photodraw

Molemole,
Okay most digital camera act as a removeable drive. Plug your camera in make sure its set to connect to PC. Double click on My Computer. If you're in luck you will see the camera as a drive (it may be on your desktop instead). Double click on it. You then get a list of files. If youre using XP the default is to show thumbnails of the pictures. Other OS change the view (using the view menu) so that "as web page" its ticked.
Widen your window and you should see a space down the left hand side. Click on each picture in turn and a thumbnail will appear. To copy that image right click, copy and then right click an past in the directory you want in your hard disk, the file should then copy.
Hope that helps.

Bloody hell, I know all that, I work with buggering computers, all of that stuff works fine, but I don't like it. I wanted the list of thumb-nails to appear in the download option on Photodraw, don't like the way it acts as a removeable drive. The Sony ones I've used previously let you see thumbnails using the package shipped with the camera.
I'll just change the folder options to view thumbnails there and arse about saving them and then opening them in the package. I'm just lazy and wanted to cut out the middle man
. Is it because it is seen as a removeable drive by the computer and not as a digi camera that photdraw can't be arsed with it? Is there any way round that?
Maybe I should just download em all and work from the computer then
Apart from that, the Konica camera is a good 'un, apart from the options aren't too professional. But then I suppose that's why I've got a big humping SLR jobbie too
