Does anyone know how to stop car door deals from freezing in the cold weather? Now the temp is dipping below zero overnight, I get to my frozen S-Type in the morning and the doors are all stuck shut, frozen to their seals.

Is there any way of stopping this? It's very frustrating and I'm worried about ripping the seals as I (gently) try to open the doors.

Thanks,

Mark

1) Before you arrive at home, kill the heater, open the windows & remove as much heat as possible, this stops the cars heat from creating condensation that then freezes up.

2) Remove the salty residue fromn the windows, the salt attracts moisture that freezes up at lower sub zero temps.

3) Try spraying de-icer on the effected rubber & or WD40 type stuff to act as a lubricant.

I use warm water in the mornings to de-ice the car, it flushes any salt away but leave the car wet & you'll never get back in.

wipe seals with silicone spray. This has stopped them freezing at night on my modern Jaguar.

Cheers for the tips. I'll try silicone spray to see if that helps. A trip to Halflops tonight then!

Household polish works better than Silicone spray and is cheaper too. Make sure the missus doesn't notice you with polish in your hands or she'll get other ideas!
