It's probably loosely scripted, obviously they will have planned out what topic they cover and what they want mentioned in each show at each moment.

You know, when I was in the States, i saw an episode (sorry to take this of topic), and she had a woman on who had run over her husband repeatedly. it was on camera, and she drove around, and around the car park, over him about 5 times. Oprah had her on the program via link to her prison saying that it was awful he was cheating on her, and how bad it is that men treat her this way, and what a state she must have been in. WHAT? The cow is a murderer. It wasn't a one off angst thing, she did it repeatedly! But oprah is more concerned that the lady was feeling a bit low, self esteem had ebbed, and the chap was awful for cheating. Oprah... gat a grip! The woman is a psychopath! her daughter was in the car as well. fancy putting your daughter through that!

Anyway... Top Gear gets an Emmy.. well done!
