The Guardian

Giancarlo Fisichella has had his driving licence seized for speeding just six days after appealing to Italian teenagers not to race in the streets.
Fisichella was stopped by police early on Sunday morning in Rome after driving at 148kph (92mph) in a 60kph (37mph) zone on the outskirts of the capital, the Italian news agency Ansa reported. The consumer group Codacons said that the formula one driver's speeding offence was "a mistake and a bad example for many young people who admire him and follow him".

I'm sure you're right. Does anybody else remember the Damon Hill thing?

Not sure about that. An endorsement or condition that prevents you from holding a driving licence will usually prevent you from holding a race licence.

I'd say yes. There was the young one in btcc who was racing in it and had yet to get his full driving licence

I heard not a million years ago that a driver that has yet to obtain/pass his full driving lisence can still have a race lisence.
But, someone who has their driving lisence endorsed WHILST holding a race lisence will have their race lisence open to restriction also.

Just what I heard, so don't quote me.

Better amend that score smoke

Sounds most unusual for the Italian police - would have thought they'd shake his hand, get an autograph and send him on his way!

Don't they tend to have a couple of licences from different countries?
