Looking at Autocar, in the
'what's coming when (the dates your delaer won't be telling you)'
section,
they list the Europa in March 06 (no surprise) but also
Elise/Exige for September 2006!

Do you think that's the S3 coming next year ?

tip: dont believe everything Autocar print....they had the M250 in there too you know

seriously...I dont think so - id anything it will be the new federalised Elise that they have to make (they have dispensation on a few things for about 3 years I think to be able to sell it as is in the US) ....its gonna have things like bumpers that can withstand a 5mph impact etc for 'touch parking' ....as this (apparently) is how they park in the US ...some changes needed on the lights...and a few other bits n bobs....hey..it may be the 1st Elise ever to break the 1000Kg barrier!

so I wouldnt get excited...other than the fact as these heavyweight world market cars come out, the value of the S1 and early S2s in circulation should stabilise as everyone who wants a lightweight sportscar will be after them, as the Elise as we know it wont exist

Morning Guys

Nonsense, Europa will be launched in May 06 and Elise/Exige will remain the same until 07 at least

I was chatting to my dealer yesterday about the Exige Cup 240 (price = ouch) but also discussing the Europa. Apparently that's going to be unveiled at the Geneva motor show and they are taking deposits now. They are also taking deposits for the Esprit, but no more news on that. He didn't mention anything about a new Elise variant though; then again, he has commented on several occasions in the past about how they (the dealer network) are always seemingly the last to know about new developments.

I would hope that with the Europa coming along to take care of the "comfy tourer" end of the market, that would enable the Elise to be re-focussed as the stripped out weapon of a sports car in the range. I would guess that much of the lard has recently gone on trying to broaden the Elise's appeal by chasing the "luxury" sports car buyer (eg aircon, cupholders). With the Europa, this should no longer be necessary.
