If a married man looks at pornography is he being unfaithful?

Wife wants divorce for virtual adultery

A Romanian woman demanded a divorce for virtual adultery after she caught her husband surfing the internet for porn.

Geta M, 45, from Galati, has been married to her husband Ion for 23 years but told the court she couldn't go on because she felt cheated.

She admitted Ion was a good husband, coming home on time and taking care of the family, but she says she couldn't accept being replaced by 'virtual lovers'.

Geta told the court: "When I caught him watching porn movies and looking to pictures of naked women I knew I had to divorce.

"What he does is totally away from my principles of life and I don't want to be near him when he does that. I want to set him free so he could find himself the woman he likes."

Ion said he found himself tempted by the XXX images after he bought his younger son a new computer and accessed the internet.

He said he doesn't want to separate from his wife and the court decided to give the woman time to reconsider her demand, reported the 7 Plus newspaper.

Nothing as queer as folk is there. Would it be just as bad if he looked at a naked woman on page 3?

Well fair enough if she wants a divorce, would hope he has a prenuptial agreement though. Sounds like he may be better off without her TBH.

I'd guess he wasn't just looking at porn though. I mean, you don't just look at porn, it's a real activity.

Maybe if she made an effort to keep their relationship 'healthy' ie with a good sex life, he might not be wanting to look elsewhere

More seriously, the sex drive of men and women tends to be different and I think many men in relationships are using porn to relieve physical needs that cannot be completely alleviated by the man’s wife.

It is not being unfaithful, but releasing excess pressure and so reducing the chance of that man actually being unfaithful by having an affair with another women.

I think it depends on personal values. Personally I think it is a bit sad that sex has been de-valued so much in our society. The web makes it all to easy IMO, when does the line get crossed, porn, chat rooms. Would you be happy if your partner was looking at home porn movies and they can easily mail the person that made them??

According to medical research we're supposed to give our tubes a regular clean out by firing a custard torpedo. It apparently leads to a siginficant reduction in the chances of getting prostate cancer.

And if the Mrs isn't in the mood, then a good wank in necessary for medical reasons.....well that my excuse anyway

I happened across a study that concluded that women are, in fact, just as promiscuous as men which would lead me to believe that male gender do not have more of an 'excuse' (shall we say) to have an affair than the fairer sex. Indeed, although I have no idea of the actual statistics, I bet it's realistic to expect that just as many married women as men are having affairs these days, particularly as these women are no longer so dependent. And let's face it, a lot of women do not find their partner physically attractive after the paunch, bald patch and moodiness have developed!
