Hi,

First post but have been lurking for a while...

My 3200 has just had annual service and tubi fitted. 2 days after getting it back the red check engine light comes on intermitently and the remote key lock doesn't work - ie it does not activate the central locking, the alarm and imoboliser etc.

First off could the check engine light have something to do with the work that was carried out to fit the tubi or is it just likely to be the standard oxygen sensor issue (had these replaced 12 months ago)? The old exhuast had rusted through so that if failed it's MOT. The light came on the first time after about an hour on the M3.

Secondly any thoughts on what might be up with the key lock issue - I've checked both black keys and neither work so I'm assuming its not the battery in the key. Fuse maybe?

Thanks all,

JZ

The tubis are jsut the back boxes, and I think the sensors are all upfront near the cats etc.

If its just been serviced, get it back to dealer as its probably a loose connection causing the doors and thus the "check anything electrical particularly sensors light" to come on.

I have a portable sat nav system with cigarette lighter adaptor, the adaptor does not fit very well and sometimes blows the fuse in the left footwell, this stops the central locking working so I would check the fuse first

Thanks for that.

I did have a go at the fuses (both connected to the alarm/central locking were fine) and pulling one of them out set the alarm off. I had to deactivate it with the key in the door and then the key lock remote started working again. Very odd but at leasts its fixed.

Cheers,

Sounds about par for the course
