So what's the difference (apart from £10 per tyre) between a 'normal' Toyo Proxes T1-S 235/40/R18 91V tyre and a 'TVR fitment'
T1-S 235/40/R18 91V?

and no funnies about feking rebuilds/breakdowns etc.

I'd be suprised if you can get hold of either.

Weren't they replaced months ago with T1-R ?

There's no difference, other than the ones with TVR on the side were suppose to be for OE fit on the stillborn Tuscan R. If you ask nicely, Toyo will do them at the same price; and they're also on offer at the moment.

I'm sure the T1R's that we've got on the rear of the Cerbera look less 'stretched' over the rim than the standard Toyos on the front.

Err - link didn't work

PROXES T1-R 235/40 ZR18 95Y RF Rim-protectionleiste Summer tyres
Speed Y: the speed capability of this tires is up to 186 mph/300 km/h !
We only supply the tire. If there is a rim shown on the picture, it is just to symbolize.

Anyway they're T1-R tyres for £115.30 each.

£115.30 - Your local TVR dealer or indy should be able to beat that price.

O'reiley.

Brief chat with my local stealer suggests £150 each plus VAT plus £15 fitting each.

You know any dealer can beat £115 a tyre? You sure?

and that's Goodyear F1 not Toyo.

Gold star for that man - you got yerself a bargain if that was £65 all in per tyre.

They now only have Goodyear F1s also for £150 each including RAT and delivery.

I think the TVR fitment had softer sidewalls, because of the lower weight of a TVR. If the non-TVR tyres have stiffer sidewalls, the ride will suffer and the car will break away less progressively, I believe.
