A pregnant woman who allegedly stabbed her boyfriend because he tried to stop her eating a bar of chocolate has been charged with attempted murder. Maria Islas, 27, has pleaded not guilty to attacking her 18 year old boyfriend with a kitchen knife. He suffered a punctured lung and lacerated liver. “She wanted to eat a candy bar and he didn’t think it had any nutritional value” Detective Eric Tippis told a preliminary hearing.
