Finally, a train service
Discussion
Ok, I use the train from Doncaster to London fairly often. I used to get the 0710 Hull Train, got me into Lonon at 0928. They put up the cost and I whinged like a 2 bob tart about it..but look what I now get:
Leaves at 0718, arrives 0918 (saving 18 minutes). BUT, it leaves spot on time, arrives in London before 9am, 18 minutes earlier than planned and I am now 36 minues shorter on the train. Arrives back in Doncaster within 30 seconds of the planned time after the run back. Toilets clean and no queue, no rubbish rolling up and down the aisles.
The staff can't be any more helpful and polite (Ok I know it was first class, but have you tried GNER First Class recently?), coffee cup never empty, breakfast and meal on the way back almost edible (GNER don't do free food anymore except biscuits).
I whinge a lot, but credit where credit is due: well done Hull Trains! And much cheaper than GNER, with an open ticket.
PS No, I don't have shares or a relationship with the trolley dolley, although he is a nice chap.

I caught GNER up to Northallerton from Kings X the other sunday and travelled first class.
I was well impressed by their service and once i finished my can'o Stella had as much free coffee as i liked,i watched the platform staff at every station and they were writing down the times as the loco left, seems like they have to supply a time log for every train, there were two very short delays and each time they kept us imformed of what was happening and apologised.
I also thought the Air con was just right on GNER,on the other train i caught on the day into Waterloo i felt like i was dehydrating.

They are discontinuing the Stella carriage.
Loved the Stella even at GNER prices, highlight of the trip was People watching whilst necking stella
Enter Mr Loud, who got on the train and continued to bore the travellers in the opposite seats, then his mate rang up and was chatting about his split from his girlfriend which Mr Loud relayed around the carriage with his loud voice,we got all the personal details
Guess You had to be there.

How much does it cost from Donny to London by train, £50 or something?
Not sure of the price but press the guy in the ticket office to look for deals, initially i was quoted £89 for a trip then when i went down the day before i hooked a special in First class for 75 quid.
If you book a long time in advance its well cheap, but i didnt know i was going till a few days earlier.
