I'm told that recent buyers of Canons SLR's receive a booklet of vouchers which give discounts against lenses/flashes etc.

Is there an expiry date for these vouchers? And, does anybody by any chance have the voucher available for the 17-40 L lens?

Andy,

Expiry date is 31st December.

Yes, I have one of the vouchers for £70 off...

I'm willing to sell it to you for £125

Alternatively, drop me a mail with your address and you can have it gratis (although I'll accept first refusal on any of your Canon stuff that might be useful to me at some point should you decide to sell!).

I read somewhere that you supposedly need to pay the rrp of the product to receive the money back. Unlikely IMO, but you never know...

The lens I'm after is circa £580 in Jessops but I'm hoping to get them to price match to £535.

Has anybody seen the 17-40 L for cheaper via a UK distributer?

Andy,
posted the voucher to you this morning 1st class so should have it tomorrow.

Just FYI, WarehouseExpress have it for £543. Jessops won't, in theory, now match Internet prices but, after some negotiation they did take a chunk off the 70-300 I bought. Also got 100 free 7x5 prints etc to make up the difference so you can always use something like that if they refuse to budge on price.

There is nothing on the Canon website or vouchers regarding the price you need to have paid! All you need is the barcode from the box, the voucher and a copy of the receipt.

Hi Jonathan,

The cheapest I've found so far is: www.t4cameras.co.uk/index.asp?pname=/moreinfo.asp?id=54

My local Jessops branch have always done their best to match the lowest price I could find, so I hope this time will be no different. If not, then I'll be buying it through the above link.

Thanks again for sending the voucher

If anyone wants a voucher booklet, fill in your details at the bottom of this page..

www.canonextrapromotion.com/faq.aspx

And you'll have the vouchers in a week or 2

You should be able to claim the cash back on any qualifying Lens or accessory sourced from an EU based supplier.

There's a guy called "Kerso" on Ebay who has a 1st class reputaion on the Canon forums. He sources his stuff from the US but will supply a UK receipt and Canon have paid out cash back to his customers. I believe they've accepted PayPal reciepts too.
