Going, going... gone...

Well, I've done it. After a two year love affair with my Cerbera 4.5, I've given her up... or sold her to James Agger, to be more precise.
I love that car - the roar of the V8, the classic shape, the unique interior, the raw power... it really is a stunner.
And although I feel gutted to see the Cerbera go (I'm a sentimental soul), I'm also really excited, 'cause tomorrow I drive home from the factory in a new Sagaris!
Oh, but woe is me. Have I done the right thing?

Did you shake Jamer's hand? Check you've still got your watch.

Felt exactly the same way.
I loved Peril 1 she was a real eye catching beastie and I was really upset to drive away from her. She had given us some really good memories too.
Have you done the right thing........well
you'll be able to tell us in a couple of days. I do, however, have a sneaking suspicion of what your reaction will be
YP
Exactly, ALT. I bought a pre-built one. I think the lead-time for new build is about eight weeks at the moment, but don't quote me on that.
Waving goodbye to my Cerbera did get to me, YP, but I went up to see my Sagaris today, in the hope of collecting it, and I must admit that I knew then that I have done the right thing - it's a beautiful car, and the ride's a different league (I think)!
Unfortunately, I couldn't drive it away today, due to an unforeseen new regulation by the DVLA (or just some civil servant jobsworth, perhaps), so despite TVR's best efforts (they were brilliant), it just couldn't happen. (They're delivering it for me tomorrow instead, which is really good of them.)
So, my anticipatory excitement has to stay for one more night! It's as if Christmas has come early!

Will look forward to your comments after it's been delivered today.
Not being funny but the Sagaris is nothing like the Cerb....it will lull you into a false sense of security mate she is soooo planted on the road....and it IS icy out there!!
Take care whilst you're having fun.....

Cheers YP! My car's just been delivered to Power, so I'm off to collect it now... exciting!
My Cerbera's for sale on Jammer's site (www.jamesagger.co.uk) if anyone's interested, and I can certainly testify to its condition and the care I've taken of it - it's a lovely car.
I'll let you all know how I get on in my new Sagaris.

Unfortunately, YP, I still haven't got it. When I last posted I was just setting off to collect it from Power, but literally as I arrived and pulled up behind my new Sagaris (huge grin on face), I had a phone call to say not to bother 'cause there were a few issues with it and it was being returned!
Needless to say, I was disappointed, but the factory reacted quickly and is sorting it out now. And Dom really looked after me, as always, so I can't complain. These things happen, I suppose.
Anyway, another few days of waiting, I guess...

I have never heard of a car being delivered to the dealer and going straight out for delivery! We spend anything between eight and twelve hours carrying out a pdi check and then cosmetic prep before delivery. Ideally if we get the car early in the week we can have everything sorted for the weekend! So presumably this car had been pdi'd prior to delivery? If so then it should be spot on!! Anyway it will be worth the wait even this time of year! Hope that you enjoy it. Best regards, Tony
It's a long story, but you're right, Tony, it did come PDI'd and ready to go direct from the factory. As you say, I know it'll be worth the wait, and it's better to have it spot on from the off than to discover a problem down the line. And I can't complain - they've let me borrow a new Tuscan as a run around while I wait!
Hard luck, hope you get the car soon. I'm sure it will be fantastic when you finally get your hands on it.
Out of interest what caused the car to have to go back? I assume if it were mechanical that TVR Power would have fixed it themselves (being engine rebuilders and all that). Which leads me to assume it was paint/trim related. From which I assume TVR still have Stevie Wonders Brother doing final check and now it looks like he's moved into PDI too. Maybe they should hire Blunkett too, his dog might spot some problems for him.
Of course I'd love nothing more than to be corrected on these assumptions. But in the meantime I'll further assume that TVR still don't know how to finish building cars properly.

To be fair, it wasn't to do with the finish of the car, it was a mechanical problem that Dom picked up on; Power could have fixed it, of course, but they're very busy and I think they didn't want to interfere with a brand new factory car. When the factory was told about the problem, they did come to pick it up straight away, and I'm sure they'll sort it out quickly for me.

Fairy nuff, I stand corrected. Hope it gets sorted quickly.
Woohoo! It's arrived! I've just collected my new Sagaris. Not the best weather to take it out in for the first time, but I've got to run it in, anyway, so I've got to keep the revs down whatever the conditions.
Even though I've only pootled home it, I absolutely love it! I've been driving the Tuscan 2 S for the a few days and was starting to worry that I'd done the wrong thing in getting rid of my Cerbera, but I think the Sagaris is in a different league.
It's early days, of course, but for now, and in the words of McDonald's, I'm loving it!
(For those that were following my plight, by the way, it was only a tiny problem that it had on first delivery, and TVR collected it, fixed it and re-delivered it all in just two days, so they were really very good.)
