Could I please have some info???

Hello all,

I have never owned a TVR before and would very much appreciate it if someone could give me some information on the following:-

1996 N Reg TVR CERBERA 4.2 V8 COUPE (NEC SHOW-CAR)
29,000 miles, Mullberry metallic. Magnolia and Dark blue interior, Full service history, Multi function steering wheel, Air conditioning, Power assisted steering, ABS, electric windows and mirrors, remote central locking, multi spoke alloys, Sports Exhaust, sports syspension, white dials, Anti theft system, Immobiliser, Rear headrests, Tinted glass, Radio/CD, Viewing highly recomended. £14,595.





I would like to know any info that anyone has on this car as i am seriously thinking about buying it...

All I can add is it has had 5 previous owners and the last ownership change was November 2004.

Top tip - non TVR garage/specialist then tread very very very carefully.
Generally the best cars (IMHO) are the private sales owned by enthusiasts.

Yup - best thing is to go and have a look at it and get the service history and recent bills.

Thanks for the info guys, any idea what kind of things i should be looking for when i test drive it?

Does having 5 previous owners have a huge bearing on the car as the mileage is very low?! I was a show car after all..

Any more thoughts or things I should be looking out for would be greatly appreciated

Quite a lot of wrong info in the sales blurb.... hmmm. Wonder who's selling it now. Gaz, feel free to contact me if you want. I sold it earlier this year to a trader, I'll point you in the right direction if I can.

- ABS..... erm, strangely no.
- Show car.... since when, wasn't before so I don't think it is now!
- Mullberry Metallic.... try checking the paint code you muppets and the ICI book will tell you it's Chianti Starmist. While you're at it, check your spelling of "Mulberry"
- Magnolia & Dark Blue Leather.... hmmm, someone has problems with their eyesight. Since when could you mistake aubergine (purple) for blue....

If you don't get there quick I'd be tempted to buy the damn thing back and hang my head in shame. Interesting that the last owner sold her a bit rapidly.... too much for ikkle man methinks.

Can't PM you yet as I only joined last night - is this a good model for me to be looking at then? rest assured that it if I buy it then she will be cared for! I am a car enthusiast with a passion for exotic and rare machinery which is why i will be aiming to get the best example possible with which to build on.

How long did you own her for?
Any major work done?
are you aware of any internal engine mods?
Who built the interior?

Sounds like your not too happy to have parted with it, it is very low mileage so if you don't mind me asking why did you sell it?

Need to find out why it was shifted so quick recently?

Nov 04 was when I bought it, and I sold it on in June 05....

So that makes it 6 owners, with possibly more, depending upon how upto date my checking resourses are....must agree that the description inaccuracy's are a little alarming....guess the vendor hasnt a clue whats their selling!

Gareth, you have mail, but just for the record, here's some answers.

As the chaps on here will tell you, I sold her under protest after the addition of tiny feet to the family. TVR *average* annual mileage is about 4000 so it's about right. However I did 8000 in eight months in the car before selling her, so she's had a run or two. She was run everyday as my only car, so has never been sat idle.
