...of course he was never guilty.

These are the probable facts. Ronaldo had one or two drinks with some women. Nothing untoward happened.

The women in question then decide they could earn some easy money if they accuse the star of a sexual offence.

The identities of the women concerned is kept confidential.

The identity of the (innocent) accused is plastered all over the papers / TV.

From the accusers (money grabbing) perspective, nothing is lost (heads I win, tails you lose).

From the accused perspective - name plastered all over the media. And some mud sticks.

Is it not reasonable that the identity of the accused be kept confidential until sufficient evedidence is available that a trial can take place?

Footballers and the like are victims of their own lifestyle.

It's funny that the ones who behave themselves never get accused of this sort of thing.

Since when has Christiano Ronaldo been misbehaved ?

me, is it bad behaviour going out and having a drink with a couple of women? Its quite normal where I come from.

Agreed. I was under the impression Ronaldo was a bit of a mummies boy. Certainly I wouldn't put him the bad boy category of some other footballers. Just money grabbing bimbos out for their 15 mins of fame IYAM.

Such women are a disgrace to their sex and make it harder for true rape victims to find justice.

As for Ronaldo I never doubted he was innocent.

Their identities should remain a secret but then again so should have Ronnies. The important thing is that they don't make money out of it and perhaps it should cost them a bit if he's found innocent, he should claim for damage. They sound like a couple of parasites.

Sorry. Forgot that would upset the Man U faithfull

I'm not just talking about Ronaldo but a lot of footballers, sports personalities, etc. Same thing happened to the snooker player Quinten Hann. Put yourself in a dodgy position and expect to get exploited. It happens to ordinary people as well but people with more money have to be more cautious so as not to become a target.

The actions of these women are dispicable and they withdrew their allegations for the reason that they weren't true. But is it likely that some of the footballers accused of raping women recently and got away with it have been guilty?

Dave, its nothing to do with who I support. I just think your call about 'misbehaved players' related to Ronaldo and I certainly wouldn't class him as misbehaved.

I'm not a 'Man Utd are the whole world' kind of fan, I like football in general but I don't like individuals of any club being wrongly labelled, its unfair.

That was all.
