And I thought this was going to be simple:

Bought some new dipped/main beam bulbs, so that I can see where I'm going in my old age, and tried fitting them to the 1988 924S I've recently acquired. The process is as per Owner's Manual but:
When the four screws holding the lamp into the pod are unscrewed, the headlamp still can't be extracted forwards, as the electric-levelling system in the bottom left corner (left head light pod) catches. Am I missing something obvious? How do you release the thing?! The only other screws I can see are the two plastic-tubed manual-aim jobbies, and presumably these should be left well alone.

Any thoughts anyone?!

I have just puzzled out the same issue.

Just remove the lid of the light pod (the painted bit)
There is one screw either side and one at the back.
With that out of the way you can get to the back of the lens.

I hope that helps.
