Supercharged LS2 6.0 Malooooooooooo!!!!
Discussion
Have just driven some more very sedate development miles in Mr Maloo.
Just for the record, and i know i am biased but, Hats off to Stu, Dougie and Vauxhall for having the balls to put there names and money behind cars like the Monaro. The fact they persevered with getting the Maloo in and then chose to make it 'Quicker' shows a level of enthusiasm that is very rare among any manufacturers let alone a Volume one.
Not wishing to stretch the point, but today i have driven the quickest car i am ever likely to drive. (we have a Brabus dealership as well so have driven a few).
Not only is it quick in a way that you can never really describe, but is quiet when needed, comfortable, individual, well equipped and quite unique.
I feel very priviledged to be given the opportunity to be involved in the project, and want to thank Paul (Wortec), Allen (EE-Sport) and all the guys at Vauxhall.
Anyway......enough of the waffle...pics etc will appear very soon.
Looking forward to the 'challenge' of Snow tomorrow, and want you all to know that its a dirty job, but has to be done......!!!!!

It is like being on a playstation!!! It all happens in a surreal blur if u ask it to perform. Took it out in the dry yesterday....I lifted at a 100 (private road) because it was still wheelspinning!!! and it would have carried on. Crazy crazy car........but.....there might be a Monaro version on the way very soon (it has wooed me, and never thought i would get into my car and think it really did feel slow!!)
I know what the responses to this will be but I'll ask anyway.
Is there much point in having that sort of power if it can't be controlled (and by controlled I mean put down on the road surface)
It's bad enough out there on wet days (or even greasy dry days like we have at the moment) even with the TC turned on, the damn thing kicks in at nearly every up change and making a quick start from standstill is nigh on impossible.
Without traction control I'd have thought that all you're doing is wearing out tyres?

On a warmer day i am sure it would have much better traction, but agree that to put it all down as nature intended is an art. That aside its power higher up the speed range is awesome and it focus's your abilities lower down the speed range. You can always have racelogic fitted to aid in getting the best out of it. The monaro would have better traction than the ute anyway.
I'm sure the Monaro will have much better traction than the Ute, if for no other reason than a bit more weight over the rear axle.
Even with a "humble" c.500bhp my simple HSV traction control very rarely kicks in & never in a straight line once it's up & running in 3rd gear upwards.
I'm not sure what the suspension differences are between my car & the Monaro's, but I'm always amazed by the superb traction the HSV's have.
I've driven quite a few similar sized fast BMW & Merc. saloons, they all had considerably wider rear tyres than the HSV's & without fail traction was an issue.
Even in a 320cdi I had a couple of weeks ago, the yellow warning triangle was blinking & it was on dry roads!
Looking forward to hearing about a Monaro conversion, hope you go for it Caspy, it would be a real Supercar slayer, made even more enjoyable as it wears a Vauxhall badge!
I know of a supercharged 5.7 litre Monaro producing 663 brake (dyno tested) and 201 mph (verified) but I am not at liberty to divulge the owner, that might be the benchmark for the 6 litre lump...
What that the same car that I,ve seen several times at LSV & at one time also had Nitrous fitted as well?
With the NOZ switched on it produced some huge bhp output, but when testing at LSV it was decided that the chassis couldn't cope with such an output & it was removed!
LSV have I believe S/charged a few Monaro's but the owners don't appear to contribute to this forum.
If I didn't have my car, I'd definately have a S/charged Monaro.
