Just a quick note to let you know that, following the advice from threads on these pages, I took my Chimaera to DH Electronics in East Finchley, London N2 (Tel: 020 8883 1448). I phoned them up on Friday afternoon and took the car in on Saturday 9.30ish. Having discussed my requirements (Replacing ageing Pioneer speakers in front with newer Pioneers (TS-E1695s I think), enlarge air vents behind seats, fit same type of speakers in these spaces, and connect the whole lot up), I was able to drive my car straight over to their workshop (about 3 miles away) where the whole job was completed by 11.00ish. Great service, and very friendly people to deal with. They didn't even mind as I sat in the workshop watching them cut the fibreglass with a jig-saw.

Doubtless I could have done all of this myself, but for £150 inc VAT I didn't think it was a complete disaster. What do people think?

PS I can now hear my stereo on the motorway, even with the lid off!

interesting.
put a new header unit in mine. sony cdx mp70 (i think..)
6 cds on one disc in mp3 format. it has skipped once, at low speed, over a very rough road. normal driving no bother. 300 quid from empire direct ( list is about £450 )
one problem ( apart from my aerial! ) - none of the 7 available display colours match the dials

how much for the speakers?

Fitted a Clarion DXZ818RMP head unit on the weekend - superb even with the original pioneer speakers.

Kicker Resolution components going in this weekend, mids and tweets in front and mids/midbass to the rear.

I have Pioneer head unit (can be seen on my pics) and Pioneer TS-E1695's in the front doors

this alone made a MASSIVE difference to overall quality. I have some Rockford Fosgate HPC2206's to go in the back air vents.

Hope to get them fitted soon.
