I get in my A6 or 'er indoors' TT and just drive and take it easy if it looks icey and I arrive like any other journey. I get in the TVR and drive at the same speed (ish ) in the same road conditions and what with all the feedback I'm getting from the road I'm usually quite overwhelmed after a journey. Is it just me? The car is planted, I have never ever in all my TVR years had an unintentional skid on cold roads, but it sends me messages like "its a bit greasy there mate" and "no more throttle thanks" constantly. Probably actually a good thing, but I find it tiring. Am I just a wuss?

I know what you mean. Its like driving a 100cc kart in the rain on slicks, something I seam to do a lot! Easy to go fast (in the kart 75mph+) but you feel drained at the end of it.

I've noticed how extra-extra careful I have to be in these conditions. Good thing it takes so long for the engine to get up to temperature!

I didn't see you blatting down the M3 the other night, did I? Heading towards London past J6 around 5pm?

I know what you mean. Last winter there wasloads of gentle feeback but I did avoid taking it out on the icyest days.

Now I think it's the dry roads you need to watch!

Due to get mine back soon, after almost two months. With the current forecast I think it will a very trepidous winter.

you want to try an Elise - its even worse than the Tuscan ...i think its good - all cars were like this 20 years ago...now you are insulated from everything and protected by electronics...which is why the driving population think its fine to drive one car length apart in the pouring rain at 90mph etc...because they have no clue about whats going on between the 4 bits of rubber and the road

admittidly it IS tiring...but I think its safer as you naturally slow down/take more care i nbad conditions in a car that informs you of whats going on...I have an S4 as a runaround - in the wet or slippy conditions I dont even notice...it really does lull you into a false sense of security.......

She's at the menders after behaving like a Tuscan!

I lost the back braking from a NSL before a 40 for a village. Ended up crossing the opposite lane and going through a hedge into a wall backwards.

More info on this: www.pistonheads.co.uk/gassing/topic.asp?t=215242&f=113&h=0&p=1

Really quite looking forward to getting her back.

Andy! I didn't know! Sorry to hear that!! Glad you're OK, and looking forward to getting her back, although I don't think it'll be the perfect weather for you both to get reaquainted!

just a bit of a sprained neck and a lump on the back of my head. All fine now.

Could have been a lot worse, and it was if a bit touch and go if the insurance would cough up to repair. I think they thought it was too much hassle to work out a replacement value.

She's had a new chassis, and should be back as good as new (but nicely run in )
