Where's the ECU??

As crazy as this seems.. I can not find my ECU. Even the local Rover expert couldn't find it..
I have a good idea what I'm looking for.. but it isn't in the footwell near the battery nor under the dash?? I've taken out the glove box and had a good look as far under the dash as I can see.. lots of wires.. but no ECU

Any ideas?. I'll start tracing wires.. which part of the wiring loom in the engine should I follow??. Being 6'5" doesn't help either.. especially poking around in the foot well.

Take the batterry out, it should be wedged down the side of it near the back of the foot well

Find the taped loom which emerges from the passenger side of the centre console where it butts up against the forward bulkhead. That section leads to the ecu in well under a metre.

Alternatively, look under the bonnet for the words 'Holley', 'Webber', or 'SU'

try ABOVE the glove compartment. there's a slot there where the ECU can get tucked away from water/damp and getting trod on/kicked!

thats where i put mine...prior to the adding of the words dellorto/dellorto/dellorto/dellorto!

Assume you are actually running standard EFI setup, and it isn't a left-hooker conversion or anything funny like that?

The ECU loom enters the passenger footwell through a gromit high up on the rhs of the footwell, a little way back from the far end of the footwell. It will be hard to find unless you stick your head in the footwell. Follow this loom back and it will take you to the ECU.
