I asked about engine reliability and was told that it's all sorted now. Apparently the worst was in 2002 and since then they've improved things. He said the Sagaris is the first to have the "red top" engine which is reflowed has new high lift cams and revs more readily etc........

Just quoted from another thread in the TVR gossip section. This apparantly came from TVR themselves (Jason Oxley) at the MPH05 stand.

I feel sorry for any folk with an '02 engine if the above is true

FYI here's the thread.

Bollox. That's just a sales pitch. Ask him to put that in writing!

Poor components, poor design and poor assembly have let the Speed 6 down since they made the first engine and it seems it still currently is.

All IMHO.

Agreed, Bollox! If you trawl through the history on this subject, you will find people saying that the latest spec S6 (If there ever was a 'latest spec')is more sorted than the year before, it doesn't matter if you look at 2000/2001/2002/2003/2004, the story's always the same.

I know that all sorts of rumours have been kicking about, but there seemed to be a fair bit of speculation that the head design was altered second half of 2002.

Gaskets have been changed, to aid cooling to No.5 and number 6 for sure.
