Split rim tyre fitting
Discussion
I wouldn't have thought a split rim would make any difference, as when the tyre fitter gets the wheel it should be in one piece and look like any other wheel
The only problem you might get is fitting 245 on a narrow rim (8 inches) might be a tight fit, unless you also have the Tuscan racer wheers that were a bit wider ?
Hoping to put 245 x 16 on my rears when I next need tyres

Only issue I know of is make sure they fit the balance weights in the right place ie. on the inside of the wheel. Most modern balancing machines tell them where to fit the weights in their software.
Wyn - check out paul Jarrold tyres in Monmouth 4 X Toyo Proxes for £338 fitted including VAT. Which i think is cheap.

Although it's a split rim : there is no need to split the rim to
fit the tyres.
The come off the same way as all other tyres - just ask him to take special care as they are your pride & joy.
My brother once spent about an hour taking apart a race wheel that weighted about a nats cock and was thinner that Kate Moss.. it was an ex F1 wheel(s) that some guy with some race car was using for circuit racing.. The rearon for splitting it was it was too delicate to lever the tyre off..
That was year's ago - so they probably don't do that now..

Grandmother, eggs, suck, teach... but don't forget to make sure that the tyres do not foul the arches or suspension. 245 may not fit. I had a 350 with body kit and wide wheels tyres. Had to go narrower on the tyres because of fouling. So many years ago means I cannot remember the sizes, sorry.

My local tyre fitter (chap I know well) can get me a pair of 245's for good money
but he hasn't done split rims before.
