on the way home tonight about 12.01am in roath (wont say specific roads for security reasons) but i cought up with a private plated porsche. unfortunately i had to get a little bit closer than i think the driver appreciated, to check it did say cayman and not carrera and he pulled over

Nice anyway, and the reg must of cost a fortune :| must be one of the first cayman in the country surely?

Pointless cars in my opineon. Why not beef up a Boxster S? for the same money and same power, i think they are such bad looking cars. Im not a Porsche hater before people start laying into me, i am simply a Cayman hater.

In porsche enthusiast circles if you want a soft top you are told to buy a boxster and if a coupe then it's a 911.......as far as i am concerned the cayman is just a Porsche marketing ploy to increase sales and in return increase profits .....

Well i'm not a lover of Porsche at all, but i saw a Black Cayman S at the UCI down Cardiff bay thurs. And i have to say the thing looked stunning, if i had the money to buy a 911, i'd just save 30k and buy the cayman, it looked a much more complete car!

Really can't make my mind up on this one....
If you want a fast two seater Porsche buy a Boxster S and a hard top the best of both worlds..
Yeah I accept the Cayman will be marginally faster on a track..but is this pace worth the extra £k's I would have said not.
I think that the fact they look so similar really complicates matters as well, we have three models all very very similar from the front and inside.

On the plus side I do like the look of the Cayman..

I don't like the look of the Cayman, to me it is just another cheaper alternative to the 911. The car looks unbalanced with the long rear arches. Plus the argument of 911 performance is moot as many other cars have 911 performance and cost less.
