Steam from header tank area

Have had steam coming from this area when the engine is hot and I turn the engine off. The only thing i can see that might be leaking are where there are are two pipes under the header tank. These pipes are metal and both connect to rubber pipes that go through the side of the wing. They are held together with 25mm jub clips. Where the pipes go through the wing, there is some kind of rubber/bonding material that's cracked/split. Any one else experience leaks from this area?

About a year ago had the expansion tank itself crack with consequent overheating. Now paying for it with the engine out due to a warped head / gasket.

I'd look very closely if I were you.

A common problem could be that you have an air lock in the system. Try bleeding the system.

It has also been known for the cap not to seal properly, so worth checking that too.

I had this. Turned out to be the Y-joint near to the header tank. You're probably getting air in to your cooling system and eventually it will overheat for proper. Joolz (Trackcar) diagnosed and fixed it for me.

This has made me think - maybe we could cook with our cerbs? eg steam some veg , maybe plop some carrots in the expansion tank, wrap some fish in tin foil and place by the mainfolds. Drive to a picnic! Maybe shove some marshmallows over the ends of the tail pipes for pudding. Give em a good decat flaming.
