Does anyone know what the little switch is for that is on the drivers side of the foot well of a 993 (RHD) c2? It's not mentioned in the hand book.

In my 996 it raises the rear spoiler when you're stationary. Yuo have to hold it in with the ignition on to raise and lower it .

In my 964 it's something to do with the old alarm system.

Think it cuts out the interior motion detectors

I know one 964 that had an aftermarket little black switch fitted where you speak of... it stopped the speedo working so it didn't count up any miles... it was on a 1500mile insurance policy or something... well dodgy

Interior ultrasonics, usually for cabs, stops the alarm going off with the top down..
