new ice head unit

i have £300 to spend on a new head unit,has to be a cd tuner as i have no room for a changer,must play mp3
any advice on possible units,i have always used alpine in the past but am open to others if they have better performance,not bothered about trick looking flashing displays

Alpine's with the "quick search" function are some of the best for decent mp3 browsing capability (if you are used to, say, an ipod's ease of use).

Look pretty nice too and have a rotary volume control. They have one for a little more which will play mp3s but off of DVD (the function is often referred to as 'giga mp3'. That means 4.7 GB, so lots of MP3s on one disc.
