Booked up a few weeks back. I am staying with Audi UK in a posh tent somewhere.

Never been before and am getting rather excited.

Is this the final year for the R8s?

Never quite understood the marketing with Audi entering a race car. Fabulous as it was, any tie to their road cars seems more than a tad tenuous. Very jealous of the corp. hospitality though!

I've been 5 times now and its always great fun - even when it pissed it down !!

I once rode there and back on a sports 250 CC motorbike - NEVER again - it took me weeks to get over the cramps and back pain !!

my advice is this

1. you have to go to the chinese restaurant at the end of the mulsanne straight - its so funny eating ahd having the cars come screaming past

2. take plenty of beer and loo roll !!

3. race everything you can there and back

4. use sat nav to get there !!

5. Watch out for the police speed camera's !!

6. plenty of anadin and water for the morning after

the go karts are good fun if you find them

my favorite moment was a midnight hike around the whole course with a rucksak full of beer - even managed to jump the fence and get next to the mulsanne straight amazing - the maclaren f1's were coming past at 220 plus !! the noise was just incredible my whole body shook !!

Not too sure about the Audi cars running this or next year. I have been invited by a "friend" who does something at Audi purely because I have a Noble. So, you see its not what you know, its what you drive!

My friends Dad booked it actually for about 4 cars (3 normal ones) and it has subsiquently turned into another friends stag do, but I am pretty sure that friday morning was montioned as the departyure time.

Is that bad? What will I miss, apart from travelling over with you lot!

It's a weekend race but I'd reccomend Thursday to Monday inclusive as a minimum to get the real feel of the whole thing.

Some of the best roads I have ever driven on. I suggest wednesday- Tuesday, and a lot of "fun" on the way down. We've already booked speedferries, and the house that we'll be using. Just not sure if I'll still have the M400 then.

Hello mate,

I'm the chief organiser for our group!! have sorted it a couple of times now!
I booked the ferries direct with speedferries - www.speedferries.com
they run from Dover - Boulogne.

I get the Camping and entry passes from Peter Webber at club motorsport
www.clubmotorsport.org.uk

This campsite is 6-7 miles south of LM. Some people prefer the trackside camping. I've done that a couple of times and tbh I now prefer the 'nicer' site at clubmotorsport. You get fed there and there's a bar! - the toilets and showers are pretty good too. It is a bit more expensive but I find it well worth the money. They run a shuttle bus to and from the circuit.

As martin says, you really do miss out if you don't get there for Friday. All the road areas of the track are open and are lined with all sorts of cars! - the Pistonheads meets along there are massive on their own. On friday night there are also loads of crazy antics going on around the indy/arnage corners and in Mulsanne and Arnage. It's also pretty mad around the Houx Annex roundabouts - a little too mad for me these days !! - loads of stuff over on the PH le mans forum.

Feel free to join our convoy if you want !!!

I have booked up to go aswell - ferry etc. with Continental Car Tours and have booked to go on the track. I'm going in convoy with both my Uncles, one who will be in a Stag and another in his V12 Jag - Thursday to Monday. Thoroughly looking forward to it and must definitely meet up en masse.

Julian.

I'll be there. The usual spot at Clubmotorsport. 3 mile drag strip just outside the camp entrance.

This may be the last Le Mans I'll be allowed out for, cos Le Mans 2006 is also my stag do.

M10 or M12 Hmm.

We are going down on the Friday morning so will miss you lot in the Noble convoy.

But will have to meet up at some point over the weekend.

Might keep the SO3 rears and pop them back on for this weekend so I can do lots of Chav style burnouts and look really silly.
