Got the old brakes off Tom's VX GTS, now just wondering which pads I should be getting. There is only a 1mm in it, but have a choice of two.

This is the Entry for VT-VX GTS R8 Premium
DP31014C - 131 x 70 x 16mm

But under that they have Harrop 4 Piston, which they are as far as I know, but they have a different pad.
DP3767C - 131 x 71 x 18mm

These are the EBC Brake part numbers

Anyhow, thanks for any advice...

I have just checked the numbers I ordered last time

For fronts I used Part No: DP31014C
For the rears Part No: DP31013C

They are listed against Audi RS2 (93-96)

Still had to take a couple of mm off.

Dave52 had green stuff pads fitted to his monaro when we met up but they squealed constantly under braking - is this common problem? Is the advice still to go for red stuff for the softer compound and less disc wear at expense of more dust?

Red Stuff pads are harder than Green Stuff. The breaks we are talking about in this thread are HSV premium breaks which are 4 pot front and rear that are fitted to the HSV GTS(UK) and HSV GTS-R(UK). I can only talk of my own experience with Green stuff in my HSV, they defiantly not as good as Red Stuff!

i wore my red stuff pads out totally in 6k miles on my monaro cv8 - take this as a word of warning to check them regularly as my disks warped as a result.

Good point Pomona.

For info - I recently spoke to EBC, for size of car and performance they do not recommend green stuff. Red stuff is fine though.

I've got HSV brakes on 04 CV8 with Red Stuff. So far very good, bit of squeal now and then but no problem.

Curious to see how long they last though...

Will report as to how good they are.. The green stuff that was in there, were OK, but hopefully the Red Stuff is the shot. Actually notice that the shudder is not there, (or just getting use to it), but honestly think now that the rotors have either worn or are in better shape. Could be also that the weather is alot cooler too.

Noticed that went through alot of pad for so little of a time. Don't want to really be changing brake pads everytime I change the oil.

Now need to change pads all-round on GTS it looks as if you guys recommend red stuff pads. Have run greens OK not too brill, also suffered disc ware. What are the part numbers for the original HSV GTS??.

Thanks Guys

Yeah, the RED stuff is AWESOME, soooo much better than the Green Stuff. A little bit of squeak every now and then, but wow, don't they make you pull up in a hurry.

From Dunc:

For fronts I used Part No: DP31014C
For the rears Part No: DP31013C

If you have a look the following page
www.ebcbrakes.com/Assets/2005ebcintcat.pdf

This will give you a picture of what they look like.

They said that to me so why do they still list them as a fitment?

Yeah, agree...

Found the green stuff was like Butter... haven't checked out how the red ones are wearing yet.
