Roof hoop seal and gear lever gaiter

Hello chaps

The seal around the rear roof hoop on my car is getting a little tired and torn at one end.

Does anyone know a good source for a replacement?

It looks like the hard rubber piece, which grips the roof, is cut away at each end leaving a 5 cm soft rubber piece to be trapped by the door when closed.

Does everyone else have this?

I know this says door seal but it looks like the same stuff to me.

Also I am in the market for a new gear lever gaiter. I have the earliest type with the door knob in the middle of the gaiter with the gear and handbrake levers. Has anyone had one done recently? Roughly what was the cost? I am in the Swindon area if anyone knows of anyone locally. I have been quoted £40. Sounded a little steep to me.

Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

Yes mine has this too, its stops the water running down the window and getting in.

I haven`t sourced a new one so can`t help you there sorry. the one on your link looks the same to me though!

Yep, roof seal and door seal are the same thing, you'll need 2 metres to do the roof hoop, I had a new roof a few months ago and the guy doing it got me to source the seals, and I used TVR Gear, it's not worth messing about when it's only £10 direct from TVR Gear

Replaced all the roof/door seals a few months back.... Bit of a pig to fit properly, just got to remember to "flatten " the eals along the sills to allow the water to run out and make sure you use adhesive on all the bends and re-rivett where you drill them out.!!
Cost from what i remember around £40 from Harrogate Horseless for about 8 meters of seal.

Had a replacement gear lever gaiter done by Leven Tech a while ago. The old one was rather tired and had a few rips/nicks in it.
They had it made out of leather instead of the 'vinyl rubbish' and is an exact colour match. Cost around £40 IIRC. Had them fit it with the new ally gear lever surround and it looks superb!

I just bought a new gear lever gaitor on ebay. I tried to get one through TVR and they don't do my colour for some reason. Go into ebay and do a search on 'Chimaera Gear'. The guy makes them new. The product is leather (mine was cream coloured but he does others). Price was about £16 inc postage. Top quality product. Thoroughly recommended - you won't regret it.
