grinnall scorpion 3
Discussion
I don't think they come up very often - 'coz their owners love them so... (am least that's what I'm hoping)
There's one on the scorpion owners web site. Don't know if it's still current though. There have been one or two on ebay over the last few months too. Have you tried giving Mark Grinnall a ring? He may know of one (or may be persuaded to part with his demo car).
Peter.

Yeah i have seen the one on the 'Owners' website. Looks nice but is a long way from the South Coast which is where i'm situated. I was hoping to see some listed on eBay but currently there are none on there. Giving Mark a ring sounds like a plan, i'v been reading reviews and the more i read the more i feel the need to purchase one!!
Ours is at Grinnall at the moment, a 1997 unregistered, awaiting conversion to go through the 2000 SVA. There is a lovely metallic green one in one of the sheds (well there was a week last Tuesday), but that may be the demo, and it is a pre-2000 model.
I've only driven ours from London, where we bought it, to Grinnall, but you cannot believe the attention it gets. It's good fun to drive too, but it takes a bit of getting used to how wide the car is, past where you sit. You think you're in the right position on the road, only to have the offside front wheel bounce along over the catseyes.
As to buying one second-hand, keep your eyes peeled, go to the kit-car shows.

Here is another one for sale: www.racewagen.nl/grinall-scorpion.php
Not in the UK, but it still seems to be RHD. The advert says it will be supplied in gun metal gray, LHD, and with a Dutch registration. Information at +31 6 29146994. Oh, year of manufacturing is 2000.
I am not selling this car, and I don't know anything further about it.
Hope this helps,

I know it's six months since you said you were looking for a Scorpion, but if you haven't found one yet you may be interested to hear that I'm thinking of selling mine. It's great fun but I don't use it enough - I think I need something with a roof! It's 1997, factory built, factory serviced, approx 16,000 miles, replacement 1100cc engine (believed to have done about 26,000 miles) fitted at factory two years/4000 miles ago. Price yet to be determined. If you're still looking, call me on 07767 493651.
