Just wondered if anyone had a view about this car. might be a cheap way to getting a 968 cab - which is what i'm in the market for. i can put up with LHD and i wanted a manual while it's also in a colour i like. guy selling seems genuine too.
I haven't yet seen the car. I could get an inspection done but i could then lose the auction! Or maybe I could try to end the auction early with the offer.
Any ideas anyone? Thanks

I have seen that car on ebay, with the same description, a number of times over the last 12 months and its does look great, then it should after a respray. I thought it had sold in the past but guess I was wrong. Can you get an inspection done before the bid period ends, you will at least have a little more to go on ? At just over 6K resevre its certainly well priced even if its LHD. Shame you want a manual as Im selling my RHD cab at the moment.
Just one last thought, give the guy a call and see if you can agree a price that he would accept subject to a satifactory inspection, may cost you a little more but if you get a mail regarding the subject to and then bid your highest you can solve the time issue. I guess to avoid a problem you should arrange an inspection promtly and buy so long as only minor issues are identified but the worst that can happen, if the worst happens, is a negative feedback.
Did speak to the owner who seemed straight enough. He said that timewasters were the cause of the car's multiple appearances on Ebay.
Anyway, I took some advice from a well known Porsche editor and decided to leave it. Just too many miles and my wife and I wouldn't have enjoyed the left hand drive.
Owner said he would have ended the auction for £6-6.5k and I note that it's already hit £6.4 with a day to go and from a decent bidder.
Might be a decent bargain for someone but too much of a risk for me.
