Replacing eyeball air vent on steering wheel

Someone at the CREAM meeting asked me to supply an aluminium eyeball vent. Sorry, I have forgotten who you were! Has anyone actually ever replaced one of these? If so are they difficult to do? The dash looks to be quite complex to take appart!

I've been lucky enough to drive a Bentley Continental GT (fairly fast for something that weighs the same as my house) and a DB9 Volante (I love my Cerbera but...) over the last couple of months and I still think the Cerbera's interior is the best around. That eyeball vent looks cheap & nasty to me though.

Given the use of bespoke aluminium elsewhere, shame they went for plastic for this.

No idea what it would take to replace but if anyone can come up with a good looking aluminium alternative, I'd have one.

Ive been looking for one of these for a long time. You can put my name on the list. Would also like a replacement for the Ford electric mirror adjuster thing. Sent some pictures to Leven a while ago but never heard anything back.

Nope I like the plastic one, cos its the spitting image of the ones at either end of the dashboard of the old lotus elan+2 I used to have.
