Want to discover more music?

Someone sent me a link to this site the other day... www.pandora.com.

Have to say it's quite good from what I've tried so far. Just slap in an artist you like and it finds you other songs and artists that are similar in style, in the hope you might discover some new artists you'd never heard of before...

And it's free!

... And it works through my firewall at work!

It seems a bit limited in it's vocab IMO. Last.fm is a bit more comprehensive. As always, things like this rely upon people leaving feedback and thumbs up etc. Problem here is with the popular stuff (or the most 'radio friendly' of the obscure stuff) it ends up playing exactly what you expected it to play....so don't go looking for any hidden gems in an artists catalogue.

To be honest, it's the first I've seen of something like this. I'll give Last.FM a look as well.. just thought it was quite cool, and at least gave me something to listen to at work! :P

Does seem a good idea.

I registered "www.ifyoulikethat.co.uk" to do something very similar but nowhere near as teccy/clever. That was a couple of years ago now. Never did do anything with it!

I like it!

It's come up with some interesting suggestions I would never have found.
