Hi Guys, i am building a 4.6 RV8 to install in my 400se, 10.5 Comp ratio, hotwire inj, 5.0 JE plenum and ecu, Standard trumpets although i might have a larger set coming for it, I will also take any excess casting from behind the valve seats. Can anyone suggest what cam will work ok with these mods?

218 or 218 hybrid would be nice. Gobs of torque and revs well.

I had a 218 in my 4.6, 10.5:1, stage III heads, ACT induction not JE, hotwire setup by Mark Adams. It was extremely tractible and IMO an excellent compromise between big numbers and good manners. I understand the 404 produces bigger numbers, but some people say this is at the expense of tractibility. I haven't tried it so I don't know how much difference that makes.

if you decide on the 218 i would definetly go for the hybrid, at 10.5-1 your compression is a bit on the high side for the standard 218 the hybrid has a few degrees more overlap which will help this

256 in mine revs well and was std spec for Challenge 4.5 engines.

might be too far up the rev range for yours, having said that...LOADS at the bottom end too!

have to agree with Tin, Rob (V8racing) is the man.
