WTF??? Did anybody else see the TV ad for Spam (yes, that lovely almost-meat in a can) last night?

I was laughing out loud and waiting for the punchline... but it never came!

{edited to add:} Yes, apparently it really was a serious ad: www.spam-uk.com/news.asp

Somewhere, somebody knows who they are.

Namely, the propellor-head Python geek who first associated unwanted e-mail with that sketch... probably 20 years ago in California...

... wonder who it is?

Spam Up! It's been on ages ago and I thoought it had been lost and deleted from history. It's an awful ad and very unlikely to get me to try Spam anytime soon. Anyone here like borned beef butties? Yeuch. I was force fed corned beef when I was about 6 at school and have hated the stuff cold ever since. Strangely enough, stick it in a pan with spuds and onions as hotpot and I adore it. Go figure!

Funnily enough, their own website says the campaign only started this November...

Saw it again last night - all I can say is: Have a look at the SPAM® salad next time you see it

I remember a chip shop in Scotland selling Spam fritters - slices of Spam dipped in batter and deep fried.

There's just something wrong about meat in a can though.
