I remember a double-glazing salesman who proudly announced he was "in fenestration".

I wasn't sure whether to offer him a flannel or call a doctor.

Last year I sold a business to a demolition company in Leeds. During the the negotiations I was introduced to the "Explosives Director" - I said to him "boy, I'd love a title like that!"

Interestingly, I went to shake hands with him and he shook his head and said "no can do". Apparently the explosive chemicals get stuck to the skin and can't be washed off easily. As such he alway sets all the alarms off at airports. So much so, that even people who come into contact with him have been known to set off airport alarms!

the longer the title, the lower down you are in the company!

I've got the longest title in the company I work for! Bugger!

Same here however I often use such other glorious titles as Forklift Driver, Delivery Boy, Receptionist, Cleaner, Maintenace Man, or on the odd occasion that I really want to impress I just say I'm between jobs as I always seem to have a dozen or so on the go at any time.

I was a Data Reporting Technical Specialist - Now I'm merely a Team Leader. Guess the more responsibilty you have the less words you have in your title......
