Help ,buying GT3,mk1
Discussion
Hi guys i am buying a Gt3 MK1 comfort in silver with leather recaro's.Doe's anyone know the car, former reg D1VUS,now W163TTF.The car was originaly supplied new from Jersey, appears to be untracked and good condition.I have arranged for Machtech to inspect it,but any information on the car would be grateful as it is a big investment for me.Thanks for your help
Sorry don’t know the history of the car, but I had a test drive in it a couple of months ago. All seemed OK except there was a bit more rattle from the exhaust than I had heard on others - maybe nothing though. They were keen to do a deal as they have had sitting around for a while now. I ended up getting a LHD one from Germany, which was nearly a year younger, with a third of the miles and for £6K less!
Good luck with your search.

Would agree, make sure it's been properly maintained. JZM should identify any issues, they are very experienced in GT3's.
Does it have an OPC warranty? If not then factor that into the purchase price, c£900 inc opc inspection. The warranty will give you peace of mind on the drivetrain. If it's not too cheeky how much? private or dealer? mileage?(Email me if you don't want to air this info in public). If it's a good un then buy it and enjoy it, I did and love it to bits. Be warned though that the car was built for the track and unless you plan to do trackdays, you'd be better off with a TT. Driving fast in one of these on UK A and B roads is a hair raising experience.

Hi Paul, the car dosen't have an OPC warranty but i can get one later if i have a 111 point check. However when i contacted Porsche for a inspection i wasn't too impressed as to there thoroughness compared to JZM who i have used before. As regard the price i am px but the deal nets down to 46k,the car is a 2000 with 22k miles full OPC history.
The car has leather race recarro's is this a factory option on the comfort ?

Are they the Porsche bucket seats? If so then yes it was an option. If they are branded Recarro visibly they would be aftermarket I suspect.
