I just watched this film last night and came away very impressed.
Alot of attention to detail in the plot- makes you ask alot of questions.
Very unusual these days, by not relying soley on plot/gimmicks and sex. Ashtons acting wasn't the best but not bad and Amy Smart did a very convincing performance.
Really enjoyed he story line- not suprised it didn't get good reviews though, as I can't magine it appealing to the mainstream dim masses....

Any other opinions?

I saw it in the Cinema when it first came out. Thought it was superb. I'd like to watch it again, but not sure if it's worth it once you know whats going to happen...

Give me sex everytime. In fact any programme without warnings for violence, nudity and scenes of a sexual nature, we don't watch.

Sorry, couldn't resist, I know it is a serious post but it is just too clever for me to respond to with anything other than juvenile humour, and honesty.

And all THIS from a admirer of Old School Alfas and Lancias (like lovely Fulvias)-me dissappointed- perhaps you lost your marbles when you got into Audis and Volvos?

Just kidding

It is an excellent film, especially as the bloke was doing his first film, I think.

Superb film - the DVD has two endings on it, the cinema ending and an alternative ending - both are full films, so you get 2 films with different endings for the price of one!

Saw it at easyCinema in Milton Keynes about 6 months after it premiered - best 50p I ever spent!

Excellent movie and thoroughly thought-provoking.

I agree with jimothy though I don’t think it stand a second watching.

*SPOILER ALERT*

In the cinema release he goes back to his girlfriends 12 birthday part or some such and tells her he hates her. She chooses to live with her mum rather than her dad and the world ends up nice.

In the Directors cut, he visits a palm reader with his mother and she says he has no life line and shouldn't be here. His mother also tell him he was very precious as he had two brothers that were still born. Every time he goes back to put things right it just makes things worse. He realises that it is an inherited thing, his grandfather and father had it and it ruined their lives. So he watches the video of his birth and goes back to that and strangles himself in the womb with his umbilical cord. Hence he was never born. The world still ends up nice but without him in it.
