Are 993TT's really appreciating in value? Over the last 3 weeks I have seen a 1996 66K miler (private) start off at £43k then readvertised a few days later at £45k and a 1998 46k miler (trade) start at £49,995 then readvertised a few days later at £54,995!!

As far as I know the 1996 is still available.

Sounds odd, an independant near me has a 98R, 19k miles for £48k. I know their margins having bought a couple of cars from them, so I guesstimate they paid around £44/45k for it. I don't keep up to speed with 993TT prices (too busy watching the 996TT taking a battering !) so not sure if this is about right or not ?

98R 19k miles for £48k retail sounds pretty good to me.

What you've noted must be some localised blip or there are other reasons behind it, e.g. cars put on market, then work done on them such as new clutch/tyres so prices adjusted.

Though I believe that long term the 993TT will be considered a classic - pinnacle of the development of the air-cooled turbos (bar the GT2 I guess), arguably the most beautiful 911 shape ever, limited production (around 7000 in total) - it seems a tad early in the depreciation cycle for it to start climbing in price.

Or it could be another dead cat bounce as was mooted for the 996TT prices. I'm biased obviously, but eventually I expect the 996TTs to be cheaper than good 993TTs, despite the former's technical advantages. They just made so many more of them (though I've never seen a production figure quoted).
