993 Varioram Airbox Re-Install...

Removed the Powerflow cone air intake on my 993C4S today in favour of a OEM MotorSound airbox with the turbo snorkel, the latter as I have a Turbo S fixed rear spoiler as part of the factory Aerokit. Bloody hell; lets just say that if any swearing competitions present themselves, I'm good for a podium position...!
Anyone attempting this, just make sure you have a *really* long screwdriver and a torch...;-) Additionally, loosening the left hand side of the air sensor and rotating it is the key to the whole endeavour - thanks Rennlist.

Nice one Alex, you can imagine what it was like trying to do my bl00dy dump valves...Cheers Pete - I've not seen where the dump valves are on a TT but can only imagine it to be an even greater farce...;-)
It wasn't all good though. I dropped the bolt that secures the airbox to the top of the plenum - replaced it with a new one but I'm going to have a good look for that tomorrow - a few minutes with a torch and mirror-on-a-stick didn't reveal it but I'll spend some time on it tomorrow doing a proper search...About 1 second before dropping it I thought to myself, "right, lets just put this somewhere safe so I don't drop..."
Still the car is now fully factory and will be enjoying fractionally cooler air as an added bonus, yay for the extra 0.000000001hp...;-)
