We've had spring powered rockets and rocket powered springs and light beams shone from spacecraft.....here's another one for PH scientific musings:

You are inside a sphere. The interior of the sphere is coated in a reflective mirror, so there is mirror all around. You shine a beam of light for a few seconds inside the sphere, then switch the light off.

Does the light bounce around for ever, or does it disappear when the torch is switched off?

It would be absorbed by your body. In theory for this to work in any way the light would have to be emitted from a non-entity, as such, that would not absorb any light. Even then, the speed of light is such that it would fade away and be gone before lasting any notable time to the human eye. Despite the fact that you can't see inside to time it or varify if it worked.

The rocket powered pen is still the most plausible mad-cap invention I think.

Thats it. Straight answer of the night has just been used up.

I had a pen like Barry Norman used in reviewing films once,

ie; with little light in a twisty type head, so you could read your writing in the dark

It's a fresh cabbage imported from Cernobyl. Either that or some light that's got caught in a sphere.

It’s visible light from a non-entity being absorbed into a body.

Just goes to show what old U T D knows about washing up...

No I’m saying a pair of marigolds are better for your hands than Fairy Liquid..

Especially if they are likely to come into contact with U T D’s face.

It's an extremely high-speed photograph of a hobbit holding the core of a nuke just as the detonators in the initiating explosives fire.

As you're adding more light energy into the scene from the torch, if you have no losses, I suppose it will eventually explode...?

I'm just up, mildly hung over, and (usual for me) more than a little confused.
You're discussing my complexion? Odd. Very odd.
