Credit card terminal Q

I have a credit card terminal which gets used very occasionally for my business.

Tomorrow it would be handy to be able to use it from different premises - does anyone know if it's phone-line specific, eg like a broadband account, or will it work anywhere?

I would call Technical Help but they've packed up for the weekend, doh.

I'm 99% certain that its tied to the phone line.

Both to validate at the server end when you dial up and also for your acquirer to dial into the terminal to transfer data/transactions/configurations etc.
