Protech dampers

Got my car back from trackcar yesterday with Protech dampers fitted (the 2"-bodied ones). I forget the spring rates, but I think it was 425lb front, 375lb rear. 150 mile run back was perfect -- this is how the car should have been two years ago when I bought it. Much more like a normal car in terms of compliance, rather than the crashy and juddery kit car that it used to be. Recommended.

Also got the balanced decat pipes. The noise seems higher-pitched now, if that makes any sense, but it's certainly smoother. No reduction in the pops and bangs, either

lol! i fort you were selling up? how much did the shocks and set up cost you? im thinking about getting mine sorted as its like you say, very kit car like and tram lines very badly! alignment is well out, and after removing my wheels the other day found it had avo's on the rear and what looks like std shocks up front.

Well, I didn't have the spare £50k to get something better so I thought I'd try and get the Cerb how I wanted it. Long-term, I might turn it into a trackday toy -- no point in selling coz it's not worth much these days.

Best bet is to contact trackcar who will put together a set based on your preferences. IIRC they're about 10% dearer than AVOs, but you get a 2" body (and hence a bigger piston) and they're CNC-machined alloy, rather than the welded steel AVOs.
