Insuring Ultima in the USA

How difficult is it to insure these cars here in the states? What companies do you use and pricing? Any restrictions. I presently have a Cobra and they are becoming harder to insure.

After contacting numerous companies for 6 months, I found American National Insurance Company www.anpac.com as the only one to insure the car during the build. $185/yr and after it's complete and registered $980/yr. Grundy, who's listed as a US insurer on the Ultima web site no quoted in any form.

I would try www.kandkinsurance.com/ They insured my rx7 while I was building it. 550 a year for 45K in coverage. This only covered it for thief and vandalism. They said they could insure the ultima when it comes time. I haven't contacted them yet to get prices.

I believe the factory insures it with the shipping company.

K&K was the only other company if found who would insure during the build as "race Car Parts" at a cost of $900/yr. During shipment the Freight Carrier is liable for insurance.

I just called Grundy and they said they don't insure kit cars

to make it even better "American National Insurance Company" is NOT licenced in maryland. I love it when I have choices.
