Doing my homework on 360's as intend to purchase one in the New Year (or maybe sooner if THE right car comes up)
I have driven an F1 (2000 car) & the changes were a little jerky, the salesman said that this will be helped by them loading the latest software onto the car (which they would do as part of the deal)
However I am put off more by the life of the F1 clutch which seems to be in the region of around 6-8k miles ! So I have been thinking of a manual car - I love the open gate but has anyone owned / driven both & can comment ? Plus whats the guesstimated life of a conventional clutch....somewhat longer than an F1 clutch I would imagine but not sure.

Thanks

R.

I have driven a few F1's and i would say these are much better than any manual. The changes are a little jerky but just release the throttler pedal slightly and the gear changes are seamless. I would never own a manual car because once you use the F1 properly you will understand, a 30minute roadtest does not do it justice. Traffic is not its strong point, nar is moving when cold but on the open road it is just breathtaking.

Proper discipline maintained you can aquire , as highlighted in a previous post, seamless changes up and down the gearbox with the F1 .When up to operating temperature , changing say from 4th to 3rd to second with "sport" engaged is motoring nivrana , pay little attention to the doubters , this is as good as it gets.

Clutch life is dependend on how an individual uses the components, I seek neutral every time required . Would you be staitionery in a manual at lights or any other delay in gear, clutch depressed....? Just pull the paddles and get in neutral.
